Sweden Part 2

We are happy to share with you that we're embarking on a new adventure - moving to Gävle, Sweden! Sandvik has offered Jay a position in business development at their head office, and we decided to accept. For the remainder of the year, he'll spend a week in Sweden each month while we try to find a buyer or renter for our house, then we'll move over there in January 2011.

We're really excited to have this opportunity, but of course we're nervous, too. We'd greatly appreciate your continued prayers for issues from selling/renting our house to Ashley finding a job in Sweden. We also hope that you'll consider coming to Europe to visit us!

We will miss all of you, but you will always be welcome in Sweden (and we'd also love to meet you in a different European country if you'd like to see other parts of the continent)!

Feb - August 2010 Update :)

I cant believe it has been over seven months since we last updated our blog!

Here is a quick recap of the past few months:

February:
Andrew and Claudia came to visit!
Annie came to visit!

March:
Our friends Ryan and Stacy got married!

April:
Both of our families came to visit!

May:
Ashley graduated with her Masters Degree, her family came down for her birthday and graduation.
We went to Virginia for Ashley's brother's graduation from college. We visited with Jay's family while we were there too!
Ashley went to California with her family while Jay went to New Orleans for a bachelor weekend with Andrew.
We celebrated Davis and Kelly's wedding in Jacksonville! We then headed down to Daytona Beach for the rest of the weekend!

June:
We celebrated 4 years of marriage! Since we have both been traveling a lot, we went out to dinner at the Buckhead Diner.
Ashley went to Myrtle Beach with her friend Becky for a girls weekend. Ben, a college friend, came to the Atl and visited Jay.

July:
We went to Knoxville, TN for the fourth of july weekend to visit Andrew, Claudia and their families.
We went to Minnesota to visit Jay's side of the family. We got to meet little Isla Pearl, the now almost 2 month old daughter of his cousin, Craig.
We also had special visits from Ashley's friend Jon (VA) and our college friends Lara and Phil (NY)!

August:
Our Scandinavian Cruise is here! We flew to Stockholm, Sweden and then went on a 5 day cruise to Goteburg, Oslo, and Copenhagen! It has been a blast!

I will try very hard to update with some pictures soon!

Christmas, New Years and Cruise!

We've had a great new years so far. We had almost 3 weeks off of work from the end of December through the beginning of January. We went to Virginia for Christmas. We celebrated christmas eve and christmas day with the Swains. We visited with Jay's aunts and uncles, and nana and grandaddy. It was great to visit with his dad, mom and annie! We headed to richmond for saturday to visit with Jay's aunt and family. We always love seeing her and having her ham biscuits! Carrie and John, Jay's cousins, were visiting from CA and absolutely loved Kojak! We headed up to northern virginia to visit with Ashley's family. We got to visit with Becky, Jonathan and Nikki. Nikki brought her 6 month old son, Isaiah. He is so precious! We headed back home to do some laundry and prepare for Sophie's bridal shower. We played fun games like toilet paper bride. See below for my friend stacy as the model and me as the designer :).

We also went on a cruise to St Thomas, St Marten and Coco Kay with Ashley's family.

Thanksgiving and Christmas Festivities

For Thanksgiving, we went to Ashley's family's house. We got to spend Thanksgiving with Jay's and Ashley's families! It was a great time with lots of food and shopping! While Jay went to Buloxi, Ashley celebrated Melissa's baby shower! See her cool cake below!

When I was hanging out with Stacy, Kojak was very interested in Abita, her black cat. He would watch her from down the hall, then he would sneak down there to see what she would do. He is so curious!

More Fall Fun

Here is a quick run down of all the fun that we have had so far this fall!

• In the beginning of October we went to the U2 concert. Bono is such an amazing entertainer!

• We threw a Baby Shower for Ben and Joy! I am very proud of my King of the Jungle Lion cake. :)

• My friend Kristen and I painted a jungle mural for the Bryants.

• The Bryants had their first son, Joshua Benjamin Bryant on October 23. We visited them in the hospital. Look how tiny he is!

• We celebrated with Meg the night she found out she passed the bar!

• We went out on the town with Stacy and Ryan for Halloween. And yes we are proud of our costumes. :)

Jay left me again to go to NV, UT, and CA. He even got In N Out! But at least he had a good time.

We celebrated Jack's 25th Birthday at Dante's Down the Hatch and then at Moe's and Joe's.

And in the middle of all of that I passed my Montessori Certification Exam! Now we are looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas!
